The Customer

GITEX is the largest technology exchange and marketplace for the Middle East & Africa held annually at the Dubai World Trade Centre. The traffic inside GITEX is so large that a person can literally get lost in between thousands of stalls and points of interests. 

The Scenario

Managing the huge inflow of visitors is a hectic task for the management team. Responding to the visitors' queries on the event listings, locations, booth numbers, etc is found to be very inefficient, often leading to a bad experience for the visitor.  To solve the issue, the management wanted to build a concierge application. The requirement was to deploy multiple Kiosks across the event premises so that visitors can self-help navigate through the event.

Our Solution

For Gitex, we developed a kiosk-based concierge application to help their visitors have a smooth experience while visiting the event premises. The application incorporated a directory listing of all the booths available in the Gitex event and provides a 3D wayfinding for the entire area. A user can search for any stall, view more details about a stall, navigate to a particular stall and view the path with a walkthrough video. Visitors can also check the various event details from the Kiosk application. The application included an admin dashboard that enabled the event managers to easily update the content on the Kiosk.
