Johor Darul Ta’zim Football Club a.k.a JDT FC partners with Accubits technologies to launch its NFT collectibles via the latter’s NFT marketplace platform. By launching digital collectibles, JDT aims to create new ways for fans to engage with the club. The collections will be issued in the form of Non-Fungible Tokens which allows fans to prove ownership of their digital asset using blockchain technology.
JDT’s digital collections will allow fans to collect artwork inspired by the club, with each token unlocking various ways to engage with Southeast Asia’s leading football club. While collecting JDT’s NFTs, fans will be able to enjoy once-in-a-lifetime experiences such as corporate box hospitality, hanging out with the First Team, or having access to exclusive JDT memorabilia. JDT is committed to engaging with its fanbase like no other club and the use of the latest blockchain technology allows fans to get even closer to the club.
About JDT: Johor Darul Ta’zim Football Club is a professional football club based in Johor Bahru, Johor, Malaysia. The club was founded in 1972 as PKENJ FC and currently competes in the top division of Malaysian football, the Malaysia Super League. In 2014, JDT gained their first major honor by winning the national league during the first season under Croatian manager Bojan Hodak. Under Argentine Mario Gómez’s tutelage, they won the 2015 AFC Cup and the 2015 Super League.
By winning the AFC Cup, JDT became the second Malaysian team since 1967 to enter a final of a major continental competition, and the first-ever Malaysian club to win a continental title. Between 2014 and 2020, JDT won seven consecutive league titles. Before this achievement, no Malaysian team had ever won the league championship more than twice in a row since the league system was first introduced in Malaysia in 1979.
