Accubits technologies has partnered with du telecommunications to eliminate prevalent fraud certifications in the employment sector. The partnership aims to stop the fraud degrees and fake certifications by its blockchain-based platform, named as Accucerts Digital Student Passport, shortly called as Accucerts.
Accucerts is a blockchain-based certification platform offering digital traceability of certification process for enhanced and authentic certifications. Accucerts enables academic as well as corporate organizations to boost up their credibility by issuing unforgeable certificates.
The most obvious and the biggest target of fake certification fraud is the education sector. When websites such as ‘phonydiploma.com’ offering degree certificates at just about 5% of the actual course fee, a large number of fraudulent certifications flow into the market. Apart from the serious monetary losses involved, the University’s reputation is in serious jeopardy. Some of the most commonly reported fraud cases are in the financial sector. The Federal Bureau of Investigation estimates that in the U.S. alone, insurance fraud leads to losses amounting to a whopping US$ 40 billion per year.
Accucerts intends to solve these problems caused by fraud certifications by providing a tamperproof infrastructure that allows for the certifying authority to issue a digital certificate secured using encryption, on the public network. Certifications powered by Accucerts are registered on a blockchain, cryptographically signed, tamper-proof, and shareable. Accucerts cryptographically encrypt a certificate and store it in a blockchain network when it’s created, so that auditing parties can be absolutely certain that a record hasn’t been forged since being issued. Once a certificate is recorded on the Blockchain, it cannot be altered, faked or spoofed. Even if someone attempts to fake a certificate, it won’t verify against the Blockchain record. This can dramatically improve the trustability of certification and thereby the reputation of the organizations using it.
